Welcome to the DEMA Art Studio
About the Art Studio
The Dema Art Studio is a safe and creative environment for students to come and express themselves. Each year, students from Kindergarten to 5th grade will work in a variety of art media. All of the work in the studio supports our Core Knowledge magnet program and Georgia State Standards. Students are taught using a variety of methods and will learn about the visual arts through the four disciplines: studio, art aesthetics, art criticism and art history.
About Mrs. Martin
Hi, my name is Heather Martin. I am so excited about our new year.
Art has always been a part of my life. Since I was very young I have had an interest in creativity. My very first lessons in making things came from my mother and my grandparents. I graduated from Auburn University with a Fine Arts Degree in painting and have a minor in Art History. I also hold a graduate degree in Art Education. I live in Midland with my husband Brian and my two children, Emilie, 8, and Kirin, 5. I have taught art at every level, including college, and in just about every situation. I love every minute of it! My favorite age to teach is elementary. I feel very lucky to be at DEMA. The DEMA kids are the best around and I feel like my second home is here. I look forward to sharing my love of art and creativity with all of your children for years to come!
